Privacy policy

Minimal is published by Black and Blue. This policy applies to the Minimal Android app and this website.

Your tasks stay on your device. Black and Blue does not operate a Minimal account, task-sync, backup, or collaboration server. Tasks, notes, list names, reminder text, recurrence settings, trash, and preferences are stored locally.

Information you control

Minimal processes task and list content you enter, due dates, reminders, recurrence, priority, completion and deletion state, appearance settings, widget state, and local backup/import files. Android delivers reminder notifications and may reschedule them after reboot, app update, or time-zone change. JSON backup files are created only at a location you choose and remain under your control.

Optional service providers

Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics may process privacy-scoped app interactions, app-instance and device/app information, masked-network-derived coarse country or region, crash traces, and diagnostics only after the 13+ or parent/guardian choice. Minimal does not attach task titles, notes, list names, reminder text, or backup contents.
Google Play processes installation, licensing, optional purchase, payment, refund, and fraud information.
RevenueCat may process an anonymous app-user identifier, product and entitlement status, purchase history, and limited app/device diagnostics only in the 13+ or parent/guardian mode. Automatic advertising identifiers and RevenueCat diagnostics are disabled.

Permissions

Minimal may request notification and exact-alarm access when you enable reminders, and receives reboot or time-change broadcasts to reschedule them. File access uses Android's system picker only when you export or import a backup. You can deny or revoke permissions in Android Settings; the related feature may become less precise or unavailable.

Sharing, sale, security, and retention

We do not sell personal information, display ads, collect the advertising ID, or create public profiles. App-managed task data remains until you delete it, clear storage, or uninstall. Optional providers retain billing and diagnostics according to their policies and legal obligations. Data sent to providers is encrypted in transit.

Children and family mode

Minimal supports users aged nine and older. It is not designed for children under nine. On first launch, the device chooses either Under 13 or 13+ or a parent.

Under-13 family mode keeps optional Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics collection disabled, does not initialize RevenueCat, and does not show purchase surfaces. Tasks, lists, notes, reminders, recurrence, widgets, trash, light/dark appearance, and local backup remain available. Clearing app storage allows a parent or guardian to make the choice again.

The 13+ or parent/guardian path may enable optional operational diagnostics and the one-time cosmetic Pro upgrade. Parents remain responsible for supervising a child's device, reminder content, backups, and Google Play controls.

Google Play Data Safety summary

Task content and backup files are processed locally and are not collected by Black and Blue.
In standard/guardian mode, app interactions, app-instance and device/app information, masked-network-derived coarse country or region, crash logs, and diagnostics may be collected by Firebase for analytics, reliability, and security.
In standard/guardian mode, purchase history is processed by Google Play and RevenueCat to sell, verify, restore, refund, and support Minimal Pro.
Family mode sends neither optional Firebase diagnostics nor RevenueCat purchase data.
There are no ads, advertising-ID collection, public content, or sale of data.

The final Play Console form must be checked against the exact signed candidate and active dashboard configuration.

Data deletion

Delete tasks or lists inside Minimal; deleted tasks can be permanently removed from Trash.
To remove all local Minimal data and reset family mode, use Android Settings → Apps → Minimal → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall Minimal.
Delete exported JSON backups separately from the location where you saved them.

To request deletion of Firebase or RevenueCat records we can administer, email developer@blackandblue.co.in with the subject Minimal privacy request. Include only the minimum locator requested by support, such as an anonymous app-user identifier or Google Play order identifier. Never email task content or backup files.

Google Play may retain payment, tax, dispute, fraud, security, or legal records. Deleting billing metadata does not reverse a completed purchase.

Terms of use

Users under 13 should use Minimal only with a parent or guardian. You are responsible for task and reminder content, device access, and backups.

Minimal is a productivity utility. Do not use reminders or backups for unlawful, abusive, or harmful activity.
The complete task system remains free. The optional Minimal Pro one-time purchase unlocks cosmetic OLED/sepia themes and Fraunces/monospace typography. Google Play shows the live localized price, taxes, and refund terms before purchase.
Reminder timing can be affected by permission denial, battery optimization, device shutdown, manufacturer restrictions, time changes, and Android scheduling behavior.
Keep independent copies of backups you need. Clearing storage or uninstalling can permanently remove local-only tasks.
The app is provided subject to consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or delivery of every reminder.

We may update the app or these terms for security, product, policy, or legal reasons. Material changes will be reflected by the date above.

Email developer@blackandblue.co.in. Include the app version, Android version, device model, and a concise description. Do not attach task backups, private reminder text, purchase tokens, or credentials.
